Reflection and Next Steps

We hope that this training module has helped you to better understand Actua, our mission, and shared goals. This module was also intended to support you in beginning to think about your role as an instructor and how you fit into our nationwide goals and initiatives. The work you will do in this role is critically important and truly makes an impact not only on the participants directly in your programs, but larger communities as well. To check your learning from this module, here are a few questions to ask yourself:
  • Do I understand Actua’s national vision and mission?
  • Can I describe what Actua is, Actua's key objectives, and can explain how I fit into this national network?
  • Do I know more about Actua's National Programs (NGP, InSTEM, and GWKA) that target underserved populations?
  • Do I understand the critical role of instructors as leaders, innovators, and role models in STEM education?
  • Can I articulate how the skills gained through the Instructor experience are valuable preparation for my future of work?
