6. Review and Reflection

Self-Review and Reflection

Now more than ever, people are looking for opportunities to learn and grow.  Employees want meaningful development opportunities that will benefit them not just in their current role, but that will also serve them well for future roles.  It is for this reason that a focus on employee-driven development is emphasized in this framework.  Self-reviews and opportunities for reflection are key components that support an employee-driven approach.  Specifically, self-reviews & reflection are opportunities for the instructor to:

  • Identify their performance and development goals
  • Put thought into how they might go about achieving their goals
  • Identify what feedback would best support their development
  • Reflect upon feedback of others
  • Think about how they might make changes or apply feedback to support their development
  • Reflect upon their accomplishments
  • Think about how their learnings will benefit them in the future

The  Instructor Feedback Guide (which can be found in the Complete Toolkit section of this course) is a resource that instructors can leverage to support them through the self-review and reflection processes.
