Microsoft Certification

Microsoft Certificate Process

Overview

Certification Options

  • Microsoft Certified Educator - Link

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate - Link

Timeline

Completing the certification(s) would need to occur by September 30, 2023, or two months after receiving your voucher code, whichever is earlier.

Earning the Certificate

To receive your certification, ‘Learners’ (Network Member staff or affiliates) must first prepare for and then write an exam to earn the certification. For each certification, Microsoft has provided learning material for preparation. This may be in the form of documents or specific Learning Paths that you must take in order to take an exam.

Reporting & Evaluation

Actua will be reporting to Microsoft how many vouchers were used and how many successful certifications were earned. Actua will be in direct contact with the staff member participating in earning the certification.

We may also ask Learners and you about your experience with this process and the certification itself.

Using the Certification

After you have earned your certification, you will receive a digital badge from Microsoft that you may use to certify your proficiency in each of the courses’ skills. Having badges visible on platforms is a way of validating your skills and accomplishments.

Registration Process

Step 1: Director Provides Contact Information

Once it’s confirmed that you would like to have this opportunity for your staff, please provide lauren.dickhout@actua.ca with the following information.

  • Which certificate and how many staff members are interested in each.

Step 2: Request Voucher & Sign up with Actua

Once the number of staff taking which exam is confirmed, Actua will send you a form to pass to your staff. Actua will be in direct contact with your staff from this point forward.

Actua will provide each ‘Learner’ (staff member) with a voucher code they will use to take the exam at no cost.

To receive this code, each Learner will provide Actua with the following information:

  • Which certificate / exam they are taking

  • First and Last name that will register with Microsoft Learn

  • Email they will use to register a Microsoft Learn account with

By providing this information to Actua, Learners agree that:

  • They will have prepared and taken the exam within two months of receiving their code

  • They will notify Actua if they are no longer able to take the exam

  • They or the Network Member will communicate with Actua when they have completed the exam and earned the certification

Please note that vouchers may take up to three weeks to process from request date.
